CAST

CAST is a browser based content management tool that enables both skilled and unskilled administrators to edit page content, assign security levels and add features throughout the website.

As the CAST administration is entirely web based it enables the administrators to manage the website from any location in the world with Internet access.

With CAST the design concept and the site's functionality are tailored to the exact requirements of the client and are completely customised. Page templates are built to reflect the design whilst the site content generally resides in a central database. Combining the page templates with the appropriate site content gives the final web page that is viewed by the visitor, this can be done dynamically at request time or the site can be regenerated nightly and held as static pages.

This system utilises PHP, typically resides on a UNIX server, although platform independent, and can integrate with a SQL Server or Oracle data source.

CAST Content Server is being used to deliver internets and intranets for organisations including The Association of Optometrists, City & Guilds, Homerton Hospital and Johnson Matthey.
