People1st and the Sector Skills Council for the Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism industries came to us with a challenge. How do you create a site which is the destination of preference for both employees and employers in these sectors?

People1st were smart enough to realise that if they wanted users to come and use the site they would need to entice them. Extra functionality like the 'Purple passport' - allowing employees maintain an online cv is a real must-have in an industry with one of the highest employee transfer rates. But good functionality isn't everything - the site would need to be designed and built with their audiences in mind.

We helped shape the structure of the site through a series of working meetings and by really getting to know People1st and what they want to achieve. From this, we created a striking, uncluttered and attractive design, commissioning and art-directing a photo shoot which provided a great set of imagery to use on the web and in print.

We advised on functionality and developed the site using our own Content management system WebPilot allowing People1st to manage every aspect of the site. We also fully integrated a number of third party features.

The site combines an uncluttered style with a great deal of content and functionality for both employees and employers. It has some great features and should help People1st achieve their ambition of being the destination of choice for all in their sector.
