British Heart Foundation

We put the spark back into Valentine’s Day with the British Heart Foundation
We recently designed a new campaign website for the British Heart Foundation (BHF). This site heralded the start of the BHF's innovative and exciting 2008 Valentine Appeal, which aims to raise £1 million for their vital care services.
This custom-made website was designed to act as the perfect fundraising tool for the BHF. We combined the previously created BHF innovative web 2.0 technologies, such as the blog (www.bhfvalentine.blogspot.com), podcasting (produced by Daisy Media) and a Facebook application – promoting the campaign: (www.bhf.org.uk/facebook created by Positive Digital) with a strong strategy and design. This combination encourages the user to interact and get engaged with the campaign at every click.
We used our substantial experience of working with the charity sector to produce the ultimate campaign website for the BHF. Users of the site are in equal measure entertained and educated through browsing the “celebrity crush” section and the “about the appeal” section. The site focuses on enabling people to understand the key messages being made by the campaign as well as giving people the ability to purchase gifts. The call to donate is also a key part of the site – people are encouraged to donate throughout.
The site combines a romantic style with a great deal of content and functionality. Its features will help the BHF achieve their ambition of creating a website that places donating at the ‘heart' of the online experience this Valentine's season.
